This course is designed to provide inspectors with the basic knowledge, resources, and practical skills that are needed by the diagnostic team in emergency response. Participants will review preparatory activities for sample collection that take place both on and off site of the premise as well as the methods of collection and submission of appropriate samples based on the suspected disease and the species of animal affected. It also reinforces the application of biosecurity requirements associated with sample collection, biocontainment, and personal protection.
