Description
In this course, we will explore essential concepts, procedures, and regulations involved in ensuring accurate measurements and verifying the net quantity of prepackaged foods. By the end of this course, learners will have gained the knowledge and skills needed to effectively conduct NQVs, which will contribute to consumer confidence and regulatory compliance in the food industry.
Lesson 1 - This lesson aims to educate Inspectors about their regulatory authority to conduct NQV and the task's role within the CFIA systems based approach to regulating the food industry.
Lesson 2 - The objective of this lesson is to educate Inspectors about the statistical principles involved in NQV. The course covers key statistical principles, basic terminology, mathematical symbols, and formulas used in NQV.
Lesson 3 - This lesson will explore the equipment used in NQV and the best practices for use, storage and maintenance.
Lesson 4 - In this lesson, we will explore the concept of tare weight and its significance in NQV of consumer packed foods.
Lesson 5 - In this lesson, we will explore the different methods used to conduct a NQV of a consumer prepacked food.
Lesson 6 - In this lesson, we will explore NQV for consumer prepacked products and learn how to assess compliance using calculated values of weighted average, tolerances and sample rejection numbers. We will examine multiple scenarios and analyze how deviations from the declared net quantity are assessed as compliant or non-compliant.
On-the-Job Training Program
By the end of OJT, the learner will have the practical experience, knowledge, and confidence to perform routine Net Quantity Verification Inspections.
