Description
The PI-07 is a CFIA document that describes several options to heat treat wood to achieve a minimum core temperature/time.
CFIA inspectors may be required to certify heat-treated wood or to conduct field audits of Alternative Service Delivery (ASD) organizations responsible for the oversight of the HT Program.
This course will help inspectors understand and use the PI-07.
Key topics include:
- Using the information in the PI-07 during field audits and inspection activities.
- Listing and describing the equipment used to verifying that treatment requirements are met as described in PI-07
- Describing heat treatment equipment requirements, air flow, kiln load and sensor positioning
- Understanding the elements that are considered when selecting an option
