Workplace safety is essential for CFIA staff to carry out their tasks effectively while minimizing risks to themselves and their colleagues, especially in laboratory environments.
This course provides standardized training for new employees, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote an incident reporting culture for a safer workplace.

- Understanding employee and employer responsibilities under the Canada Labour Code
- Reviewing the health and safety onboarding process in laboratory environments
- Identifying common laboratory hazards and which incidents must be reported as hazard occurrences and understand the proper procedures for reporting incidents
