Description
This course will provide CFIA staff with the knowledge and skills required to perform their work in a way that is safe for them and their colleagues by offering standardized training on chemical safety. It will also help to create an incident reporting culture to contribute to a safer workplace.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Identify the key elements of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
• Identify the safe work practices for handling various chemical families.
• Identify the best storage practices for various chemical products.
• Identify ways to reduce hazardous chemical waste.
• Identify the best practices for responding to chemical spills safely.
