This course will provide CFIA staff with the knowledge and skills required to perform their work in a way that is safe for them and their colleagues by offering standardized training on Employees Working Alone across the country. It will also help to create an incident reporting culture to contribute to a safer workplace.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Recognize different types of working alone situations

• Identify the elements required in a Working Alone Procedure

• Determine the factors that should be taken into consideration when assessing the risk of working alone

• Recognize the best way to address potential hazards when working alone
