This online course has been developed for inspection staff overseeing Specified Risk Material (SRM) control measures in SRM removal process at an abattoir and during processing and the handling of SRM waste.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

• Define and describe the regulations relating to BSE safeguards and the enhanced feed ban, the importance of excluding SRM from the food and feed chains and the overall SRM control program.
• Describe the process and requirements as applicable to permitted and non-permitted sites for removing, handling and segregating SRM, safely containing, maintaining segregation and disposing of SRM.
