The Meat Products Import Classroom Training (I6D131) has been replaced by a series of six self-study e-learning courses. Two instructor-led support sessions with two pre-session assignments have been developed to allow learners deepens their understanding of the material reviewed in the e-learnings by asking questions and discussing case scenarios with the trainers and their peers. Meat products are a unique food since there are also animal health concerns for imported meat products. Those sessions will provide the basis to prepare for and conduct the inspection of meat products upon arrival in Canada.
A Discussion Forum available in the CFIA Learning Hub will accompany the learners during the support sessions.
The support sessions will provide the opportunity for learners to:
• ask questions following the e-learnings
• share related situations they have encountered in their establishment to prompt discussions
• discuss more complex sections of Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR)
• determine compliance and actions toward non-compliance with case scenarios
• build confidence in the application of SFCR and other applicable legislation when inspecting imported meat products.
